We have a high awareness of our environment. We are therefore very proud of our products that have been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel:
The Austrian Ecolabel is an independent seal of approval for the environment and quality and is a guarantee for environmentally friendly products and services.
In order to prove that companies, products or services meet the requirements of the Ecolabel guidelines, interested companies must provide an expert opinion from a qualified independent inspection body. The Austrian Ecolabel is awarded for a period of four years, after which a new overall assessment is due. If changes are made to the awarded products or services, e.g. in the formulation or the materials used, an updated report on changes that affect the requirements of the Ecolabel must also be provided before the end of the four-year period. Annual spot checks of selected companies and products by the Association for Consumer Information provide additional assurance that the requirements of the Austrian Ecolabel are continuously met.
Who awards the Austrian Ecolabel and who is involved?
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (BMLFUW) is responsible for awarding the Austrian Ecolabel and the European Ecolabel (EU Ecolabel).
The Association for Consumer Information (VKI) is responsible for drawing up and revising the Ecolabel guidelines and for the administration of interested parties and Ecolabel companies.
The Austrian Ecolabel for Schools is awarded jointly by the Federal Ministry of Education and Women’s Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management.
The Environmental Education Forum is also the point of contact for schools and educational institutions.
The G & L agency is responsible for marketing and public relations in the areas of products, tourism and education and is happy to advise on all marketing-related topics relating to the Austrian Ecolabel and the European Ecolabel.
